Bankruptcy Fees and Costs

We offer two preparation services.

(1)We charge a flat rate for a complete package of $125.
(2)We also offer a free, no obligation emergency filing which includes ONE creditor.

These can be handled in the three ways below.

Option 1: Emergency filing explained:

This method is free with no obligation. It includes one major creditor, but requires an amendment later to add more when you have either the time or money to get the list ready. Fee for preparation of the regular needed forms due within 10 days ($125)
Fee for court fees and preparation, serve, and pos filing to add the creditors not added in the skeleton filing $101 before it goes before the trustee (about a month)

Option 2: Pre-paid emergency filing (prepare the $125)

I prepare an emergency filing at the same time as a full input of all creditor.
This avoids the need for an amendment preparation, serves, and pos.

Option 3: Pre-paid regular filing ($125)

I prepare a regular filing and mail it priority mail. This saves you from two trips to the court, from printing anything, and is less work than any other way (for both of us).

Counseling Certificate fees -- You may ask them for a fee waiver.

COURT FEES... Court fees are $299 -- I prepare the fee waiver, installment plan and order for installments.

1. Some ask for a fee waiver if you are 150% below poverty.
2. Most pay the entire $299 up front.
3. Others request a fee payment plan. Some courts, such as the Eastern District of California, allow zero down and $74.75 per month or you can put more down and less per month. Other courts, such as the Eastern District of Virginia require $100 down. So, make sure you are prepared for your court requirement.
4. You can ask for other options as this list only includes the most popular ones asked for.
