Pre-Bankruptcy Counseling ClassPre-Bankruptcy Counseling Class The first part is the pre-bankruptcy counseling. That is simple enough. The second part is the post-bankruptcy couseling which is also called your Financial Management Course and it is proven with a Form 23. To make things more confusing, it is also referred to as the pre-discharge certificate. If you want out of the counseling class, that is not covered here.. but we can send you to an attorney for that one. As a note: I figure that is harder to avoid for me personally than the class itself! I leave such things for attorney to charge for the process, time and effort. So, for those that would rather pay the small fee (about $35) and get on with it.. I am providing a list of counselors provided by the courts. It is not all inclusive as they may change, but it is the most recent I have right now. I have experienced wonderful customer service with Pioneer Credit. They cost $35 per person for the pre-bankruptcy counseling certificate. Bankruptcy Counseling Class with Pioneer Credit The post bankruptcy class or Financial Management Course is the most common skipped step in my cases. It is the most frustrating to be skipped, because it is simple and costs so little. It is almost over... one small class... a few dollars ($14.95 if you select the first course below) and your obligations are just about fulfilled. The clients forgets this Financial Management Course!! A very, very expensive mistake. EVEN WORSE: Clients that take the class, but provide no proof to the court that they completed it. This is not the job of the company you take the course with as they only provide you the evidence you took the course. This is not my job as I usually have no idea the client finished the course. This is the client's obligation to file! Most get it. A few don't. It is so frustrating when it is forgotten.
